Land of Providence is a 25-acre open space reservation in Holyoke’s Ingleside neighborhood along the Connecticut River. Once owned by the Sisters of Providence, it was donated to The Trustees of Reservations in June 2009, linking protection of the riverfront land with stewardship of the sisters’ legacy. The site remains a working community landscape through Nuestras Raices, which helps local residents farm plots and raise livestock. It also functions as an outdoor community space for environmental education, youth conservation work, tours, kayaking, yoga, and gardening workshops, while supporting recreation such as birdwatching, picnicking, hiking, and seasonal skiing or snowshoeing.
