Three Dike Hill is a butte in far West Texas near the Rio Grande in Big Bend Ranch State Park, notable for its exposed volcanic geology and dramatic relief. A basalt cap forms the summit, and three dark basalt dikes rise through tuff and sedimentary layers, giving the landform its name. It climbs steeply above the surrounding landscape, standing more than 1,000 feet above the Rio Grande and about 800 feet above Tapado Canyon over short distances. Charles Christopher Parry accurately sketched it on August 26, 1852, during the United States and Mexican Boundary Survey, connecting it to the postwar documentation of the border region.
