Springhill Methodist Church was organized in 1860 on the Bellamy Road, and the present building was erected in 1915, with an educational annex added as part of Bland Church in 1956. The community of Traxler was named in the late 1880's when William H. Traxler operated a large trading center and U.S. Post Office there. A memorial was given in memory of their daughter Eva Traxler.
