Original Site of Farmington Municipal Pool
History
Farmington Municipal Pool began as a WPA-Works Progress Administration proposal in 1935 and officially opened on July 9, 1937. Construction costs are estimated at $17,993.00. The pool was 120 feet long by 60 feet wide, with depths ranging from 4.5 feet to 9.5 feet. The original admission cost was 10 cents for children 15 and under and 15 cents for adults. In 1986, additional federal funding was acquired to update the facility. Federal LWCF-Land and water conservation funds secure recreational use at this location in perpetuity.
