Levi Shinn House - Built 1778
History
3
Built in 1778, the Levi Shinn House was inherited by Levi's oldest son, Clement. After Clement's death, the house was sold to David Morris in the 1840s. Morris's heirs sold it with the surrounding land in 1959 to Richardson Lumber & Construction Company. In 1972, its owners, Bob and Shirla (Bice) Richardson, deeded the house as a gift to the Shinnston Historical Association, which has since operated it as its headquarters and as Shinnston's first museum. It is the oldest structure in this part of the state and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
