Capon Springs bears an Indian name meaning the “Medicine Waters.” It was discovered in 1765 and became a famous resort of early days. Among its guests were President Franklin Pierce, Daniel Webster, and Daniel Webster’s guest, Sir Henry Bulwer, the British Minister.
