Eskippakithiki, sometimes called "Kentake," stood on the Warrior's Path as a meeting place for traders and Indian hunters and was the last of the Kentucky Indian towns. Occupied by the Shawnees about 1715-1754, it was the site of John Finley's store and his trade with the Indians in 1752. From this point Daniel Boone viewed "the beautiful level of Kentucky" on June 7, 1769.
