Erin United Methodist Church evolved from an earlier Union Church to become the Methodist Episcopal Church South. This land was acquired in 1877 to build a wooden structure. The first appointed minister was Rev. J. H. Garrett in 1879. The present building was dedicated in 1899. Throughout the years additional rooms and a chapel were added. The church is dedicated to the glory of God and service to all mankind.
