Camp 6 Logging Museum in Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, was a fourteen-acre logging and railroad museum established in 1964 by Western Forest Industries Museum, Inc. Created by members of Washington’s logging industry and designed by logging engineers, it recreated a working logging camp with an operating replica railroad, historic buildings, and more than 500 tons of largely steam-powered equipment. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it was operated from 1989 to 2010 by the Tacoma Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. After funding ended, it closed in December 2010, and its equipment and structures were relocated to other museums and preservation sites in Washington, Oregon, and California.
