Ashley County, Arkansas honored its sons who made the supreme sacrifice for humanity's defense in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict, with memorials naming the honored dead from the world war of 1914—1918, from December 7, 1941 to September 2, 1945, from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953, and in the Vietnam Conflict; the World War I memorial was erected in 1924 and the Vietnam War memorial in January 1978.
