Completed in 1962, this concrete, natural draft, hyperbolic cooling tower was the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere and, when built, had the largest capacity of any single tower in the world. It cools 120,000 gallons of water per minute for steam condensing and measures 320 feet high, with diameters of 245 feet at the base, 130 feet at the neck, and 139 feet at the top.
