Rough River Dam State Resort Park in Grayson County, Kentucky, occupies 637 acres along Rough River Lake, a reservoir created by the Rough River Dam. Built between 1955 and 1961, the dam stretches 1,590 feet and stands 135 feet high, impounding the river to form a recreational lake of about 5,100 acres. The park is a lakeside outdoor destination centered on boating and fishing, and it also offers a marina, a hiking trail, and disc golf and miniature golf courses. The lake is especially noted for fishing, with several bass species among its game fish.
