Ptarmigan Peak is a mountain in Colorado and the highest summit of the South Williams Fork Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains of North America. Rising north of Dillon in the White River National Forest, it stands out chiefly as the top point of its range and a prominent high mountain in the forested country above the town. Its importance comes from that commanding place in the landscape, and it is also known as a summit destination reached by a trail to the top.
