Tulpehocken settlers organized this church in 1727. Since 1745, the church has paid annually one red rose to the heirs of Caspar Wistar as rent for land he granted for the erection of the second place of worship. Since 1902, a white rose has been given to Wistar's descendants as a token of appreciation.
