South Baldface is a 3,547-foot mountain in Chatham, New Hampshire, in the eastern White Mountains, known for the steep, barren eastern face that gives it its name and distinguishes it from the more wooded surrounding peaks. Along with nearby North Baldface, it is a popular summer hiking destination served by several trails, including Slippery Brook, Baldface Knob, Baldface Circle, Meader Ridge, and Bicknell Ridge, with a short spur from Slippery Brook leading toward Eastman Mountain. Its slopes drain into streams feeding the Cold River and the East Branch Saco River, within the larger Saco watershed that reaches the Atlantic.
