McGregor Mountain is an 8,143-foot peak in Washington’s North Cascades above the Stehekin Valley, where it rises dramatically over the Stehekin River and forms a prominent landmark on the border of North Cascades National Park and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. Long associated with travel through the range, it is flanked by the Pacific Crest Trail and approached by a steep trail ending short of the summit, with exposed scrambling beyond. Its summit once held a fire lookout cabin and now carries a National Park Service radio repeater. Named for Stehekin resident Billy McGregor, the mountain also recalls his unexplained disappearance on Lake Chelan in 1901.
