McConnell's Mill Covered Bridge, built in 1874 in McConnells Mill State Park in western Pennsylvania, carries a road over Slippery Rock Creek in a landscape tied to the old mill and gorge. It is a rare surviving Howe truss covered bridge, with only four of that type said to remain in Pennsylvania. Resting on stone foundations and supported by steel girders, it combines traditional wooden construction with later reinforcement. Covered bridges were never common in Lawrence County, and only two survive there today. Recognized for its historical importance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and remains a valued part of the park's historic character.
