General Washington and his army encamped near this house of God in 1778. The adjacent church yard holds patriots remembered in grateful tribute, along with the men and women of this community who assisted valiantly in the establishment of American independence. Patriots of Huguenot descent who resided in New Jersey and served in the War of Independence are also honored here.
