At Harrison's Landing on July 4th, 1862, Willie Johnston, an 11-year-old drummer boy of the 3rd Vermont, played for a division review. For keeping his drum during the arduous Seven Days Battles, he was awarded the Medal of Honor by Secretary of War Stanton. He remains the youngest recipient of the Medal of Honor, and his gravesite is unknown.
