Built in 1884 by brothers Emmett L. Kennedy and Charles Kennedy, it is an 85-foot Burr Arch bridge, combining an arch and truss for strength. It is especially associated with the Kennedy family firm through distinctive features such as rounded arch portals and decorative scrollwork, which add craftsmanship and character beyond its practical use. In 1983, it was placed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places as part of a group of six Kennedy-built bridges.
