Built circa 1883 in Beaver for Robert and Sarah Stoney, natives of England who immigrated to the United States in 1860 and arrived in Beaver in 1880, this house was designed by prominent local vernacular architect Thomas Frazer. Robert Stoney worked as a silversmith, helped start the First Brass Band in Beaver, was a choir leader and actor, and was honored on the Beaver, Utah, Pioneer Honor Roll. The one-and-a-half-story home was built of pink rock tuff, a popular Beaver building material, and includes features common to Frazer's work such as a center gable, dormer windows, and a Greek Revival style cornice. The design proved so successful that Frazer used its design and materials in later work, and the pink rock was stuccoed over circa 1970.
