Delano Peak
Nature
Delano Peak rises in Utah’s Tushar Mountains within Fishlake National Forest, on the line between Beaver and Piute counties, east of Beaver. Visible from Interstates 70 and 15, it is the highest point in the Tushars and in both counties. The Tushars rank as Utah’s third-highest mountain range, after the Uinta Mountains and the La Sal Range, though Delano Peak is still lower than at least thirty-one other summits in the state. Named for Columbus Delano, Secretary of the Interior under Ulysses S. Grant, the peak remains the defining summit of its range and a prominent landmark in central Utah.
