The first settlers came to Teasdale, formerly called Bullberry, in 1882. In 1885 the L.D.S. Church purchased land for $9.99 and built the settlement’s first public building there. George Coleman was the first presiding Elder and later Bishop. The 20-foot by 30-foot structure was constructed of sawed logs, with a large fireplace in the west end. It cost $323.86, contributed in cash, labor, and grain, and David C. Adams, Daniel Allen, and Sylvester Williams served as the Building Committee. For many years, it served the community for church, recreation, and school purposes.
