The Georgetown Area Honor Roll is a memorial to Georgetown, Illinois, veterans, with names arranged in sequential order from the Civil War through the Vietnam War. Its back sections include Civil War service members from units such as the 73rd Infantry, 125th Infantry, 150th Infantry, 25th Infantry, 35th Infantry, 12th Infantry, 37th Infantry, 79th Infantry, and 4th Cavalry. The front sections list veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The centermost portion was first dedicated on June 27, 1944, to the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe and the South Pacific from Dec. 7, 1941, to Sept. 2, 1945, and it was rededicated in 2006. By 2010, additions had expanded it into a memorial for all Georgetown veterans, and a key identifies Prisoners of War and those Killed In Action among the names.
