Black Mountain is a peak in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, in the Town of Indian Lake, east of Indian Lake in Hamilton County. It lies in a hemiboreal climate, with average annual temperatures of about 5 °C. August is the warmest month at 18 °C, while January is the coldest at −12 °C. Yearly precipitation averages 1,431 mm. The wettest month is June, receiving 159 mm of rain, and November is the driest month with 94 mm. These conditions place the mountain within a cool, moist northern environment.
