Piedmont Dam

Piedmont Dam is located on Stillwater Creek and was constructed and operated by the Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army. This earth dam is one of a series designed for flood control, navigation improvement, and water conservation in the Muskingum Valley. The dam is 1,750 feet long and 56 feet high, with a drainage area of 84 square miles, a permanent pool elevation of 913 feet, a spillway elevation of 924.6 feet, four gates measuring 3 1/2 feet by 7 feet, an earth embankment of 636,074 cubic yards, rock fill of 108,060 cubic yards, and concrete of 6,864 cubic yards.
