Dedicated on September 20, 1997, by the Ohio LST/Amphib Association, this honors all Navy and Coast Guard personnel who sailed LST's to assault beaches in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and peacetime duty, as well as the Marine, Army, and Air Force personnel who with their equipment were delivered by these LST's to their D-Day invasions. There were 1051 Landing Ship Tanks built and in commission from 1942 through 1995.
