Built in 1901 by Fred Dubach of Wisconsin, this house was associated with one of the largest lumber companies in the South, which he established here in 1899, and the town soon developed. The Dubach Lumber Company and the home were later sold to T. L. James, who lived here until 1921. The house has been owned and occupied by the Trammel family since 1936 and is on the National Register.
