Built in 1842, the 12 Mile House stood 12 miles from the Ohio River on the stage coach route between Cincinnati and Dayton. Bricks for the building were made on site, as was customary in those days. It was occupied by Morgan's Raiders on their northern sweep through Ohio and was later known as the Sharon Hotel.
