Round Top
Nature
Round Top is a mountain in the Northern Oregon Coast Range and the third-highest peak in Washington County, Oregon, reaching 2,982 feet. It stands southwest of Timber and north of South Saddle Mountain. In the mid-20th century, its summit served forest protection needs as the site of a fire lookout tower and cabin from 1933 to 1946, showing the importance of watch stations in the heavily forested Coast Range. Today, Round Top is known chiefly as a prominent part of the local landscape and as one of Washington County’s higher summits.
