The Masonic Temple was dedicated on June 11, 1929 and served as a meeting place for several Masonic Lodges for nearly three decades. Constructed by J.V. McNeil, it was designed by architect and engineer Arthur Lindley, who was also notable for Glendale's Alex Theatre. In early 2015, fifty years after the last Masons' meeting adjourned, Caruso Affiliated acquired the building, removed non-historic elements over a 9-month period, and completely renovated and restored it. Repurposed and modernized, the historic building resumed its stature as an architectural centerpiece of Brand Boulevard and as a symbol of revitalization for the city.
