Francis C. Green, a sergeant in Company K, 8th U.S. Cavalry, received the Medal of Honor for service on September 6, 1869, during the Arizona Victorio and Nana Apache Campaigns. He was born in 1835 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and died on March 13, 1905. He resided in and was buried in Erin, Tenn.
