Longwood Covered Bridge in Connersville, Indiana, was built in 1884 as a covered road bridge using a Burr Arch Truss, which combines a timber arch with a truss. Measuring 97 feet long and 14 feet 6 inches wide, it has a gable roof and is enclosed with wood shingles, wood board siding, and board-and-batten at the gable ends, giving it the classic late-19th-century covered bridge appearance. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981, it was moved in 1984 to Roberts Park, where it now stands over dry land, and it was delisted in 1989 after the relocation. It endures as a preserved example of Indiana’s wooden bridge-building tradition.
