The Kelvin Formation in Utah is a geologic formation that preserves dinosaur fossil eggs from the Aptian to Albian stages of the Cretaceous, placing them in the early part of that period. It became especially important in paleontology after J. A. Jensen reported extensive dinosaur egg material there in 1969. That fossil record gives the formation significance as one of Utah’s fossil-bearing stratigraphic units and makes it valuable for studying dinosaur reproduction during the Cretaceous.
