Cherokee State Park is a 43-acre Oklahoma state park near Disney on the west shore of Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees, with additional areas around the shoreline and below Pensacola Dam. Closely tied to the lake and dam, it serves primarily as a center for fishing, boating, swimming, and other water recreation on one of Oklahoma’s largest lakes. Its facilities include a swimming beach, tent and RV campsites, riverside camping below the dam, picnic sites, a playground, a group shelter, comfort stations, a lighted boat ramp, and a 9-hole golf course. Its importance lies in the broad access it provides to the lake, shoreline, and nearby river.
