Temple Crag is a 12,982-foot peak in the Palisades of the Sierra Nevada, east of the Sierra Crest between Mount Gayley and Mount Alice. It spans the drainages of the North and South Forks of Big Pine Creek, and its striking north face dominates part of the North Fork Big Pine Creek hiking trail in the John Muir Wilderness of Inyo National Forest. In addition to its commanding place on the skyline, it is a noted rock climbing destination, with arêtes that hold routes including Moon Goddess Arete, Sun Ribbon Arete, Venusian Blind, and Dark Star.
