The Tellico Plains Veterans Memorial honors citizens of the town who fought for their country and recognizes veterans who served in all wars. It was begun by the American Legion Society on land donated by the city, and its official dedication took place in May 2001. After a few years, it fell into dire need of reconstruction, and in 2007 members of the Legion club, Chamber of Commerce, Rolling Thunder, and several local residents joined together to revitalize it.
