Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, grew from a small 1991 museum into a major aerospace campus centered on the Hughes H-4 Hercules, or Spruce Goose. After winning the aircraft from its Long Beach display, Evergreen transported it to Oregon, spent eight years restoring it, and opened a new hall around it in 2001. The institution later added a matching space museum in 2008, expanding its collections to include major artifacts such as a Titan II SLV rocket, an SR-71 Blackbird, and, in 2023, an F-117 Nighthawk. Despite financial and legal troubles, the museum was helped toward stability after new ownership and repairs began in 2020.
