Harshaville Covered Bridge in Harshaville, Ohio, carries a road over Cherry Fork Creek and was built in 1855 as a Burr truss span resting on stone abutments. Known as an especially strong example of its type, it took its name from the community, itself named for the Harsha family, who built a mill there. The bridge survived Morgan's Raid in the summer of 1863, when Confederate raiders under John Hunt Morgan ransacked the local general store and burned many nearby bridges. Altered by the 20th century with sheet metal siding and a metal roof, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and later received rehabilitation funding in 2010.
