Part of Company I of the 14th Kentucky Infantry, USA, attacked Confederates camped here on the night of April 5, 1864. Confederate losses were eight killed or wounded, with three prisoners and 24 horses taken. Gen. John H. Morgan’s Confederate men passed by here on their tragic last raid into Kentucky.
