Martinsburg's first mercantile store was built with logs on this site in 1815 by merchants Samuel Myers and William Entriken. A brick building erected here in 1850 later deteriorated and was replaced by the present structure in 2015 by W. Gene Henry. For many years, the location was known as "The Yellow Corner" because the 1850 brick store was painted bright yellow by longtime merchant A.J. Anderson.
