Brenham is a rare stony-iron pallasite meteorite found near Haviland in Kiowa County, Kansas, and associated with the Haviland Crater. It is known for polished sections that reveal yellowish olivine, or peridot, crystals suspended in metal, and for several remarkable discoveries. In 1949, H.O. Stockwell found a 453.6-kilogram mass on the Ellis Peck farm east of Greensburg; later named The Space Wanderer, it is displayed at The Big Well in Greensburg. In October 2005, Philip Mani and Steve Arnold recovered a 650-kilogram oriented pallasite from Kiowa County, now in a private Texas collection. Classified as an anomalous pallasite, Brenham remains one of Kansas’s best-known meteorites.
