De Mille Peak
Nature
De Mille Peak is a 6,539-foot summit in southwestern Utah, in the Canaan Mountain Wilderness near the southern boundary of Zion National Park. Rising among rugged mesas and canyons, it helps connect the wilderness area to the broader Zion region. The peak was named for Bishop Oliver De Mille, a Mormon pioneer, and its name preserves part of southern Utah’s settlement history. Its location within protected public land also makes it significant today as part of the undeveloped backcountry surrounding Zion.
