Looking Glass Rock is a prominent granite monolith in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, within Pisgah National Forest. Rising nearly 4,000 feet above the valley floor northwest of Brevard, it takes its name from the way sunlight reflects off its broad granite face and stands as one of the best-known landmarks in this part of Pisgah. A trail from Forest Service roads 475 and 475B climbs about 1,700 feet over 3.1 miles to the summit, where broad views extend over surrounding peaks toward the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountain is also a major rock-climbing destination, with dozens of routes on several named faces and walls.
