Hargrove College was a Methodist college begun by the City of Ardmore and later given to the Indian Mission Conference of the Methodist Church. It was named in honor of Bishop Robt. K. Hargrove. In 1907 the school burned, but it was rebuilt north of the city. It exerted a vital religious and educational influence throughout the area.
