In 1906, Croatian immigrants Ignac and Mary Svob arrived in Jerome, Arizona, with their infant daughter and began a family that became well known in Jerome for a strong work ethic, love of family, and sense of loyalty. The family included Johanna Svob Blazina, Mary Svob Kostrenich, Victor Svob, Olga Svob Dugan, Julia Svob Mcsweeney, Mary Kauzlarich Svob, Slavie Svob Katnich, Ignac Svob, Olivia Svob Carr, Rober Svob, and Rudy Svob.
