Founded in 1717, Horsham Township comprises 16.5 square miles and was named for a town in Sussex, England. It is the site of Graeme Park, residence of Governor Sir William Keith from 1717 to 1726. The first autogiro flight in the U.S. was made here in 1928 at Pitcairn Field, which became a U.S. Naval Air Station in 1942.
