Bob Straub State Park is a 484-acre park in Pacific City on the Oregon coast, named for former governor Robert W. Straub. It occupies the Nestucca Sand Spit, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Nestucca River to the east, giving it a long, narrow form shaped by water on both sides. Where river and ocean meet, the park preserves a sandy coastal landscape whose importance rests chiefly in its geography. As part of Oregon’s state park system, it keeps this stretch of the spit in public ownership.
