Nine Eagles State Park in southern Iowa near Davis City spans 1,100 acres in one of the state’s hillier regions, bringing together forest, prairie, and a 64-acre lake in a compact setting. The park is a year-round recreation area centered on its trail system and lake. About 9 miles of hiking trails cross the woods and prairie, including a 3-mile loop around the lake, while a 7-mile horse trail also serves snowmobiles in winter. The lake supports swimming, boating, and fishing, and the park offers multiple campgrounds, a family cabin, and primitive equestrian campsites for overnight stays.
