Employees of Goodyear’s India Rubber Glove Manufacturing Company left their civilian work and entered military service during World War I, from 1917 to 1919, in what was called the fight in the Great War for world-wide liberty. The memorial honors these employees and especially remembers those who gave their lives to the cause: Matthew Bickerdike, Stanley Duliepski, Roger O’Donnell, William R. Talbot, and Daniel J. Toohey.
